Breckenridge breakfast spot: Park & Main

In a whirlwind of less than 24 hours, I dove into the Breckenridge dining scene at Empire Burger, reunited with a college friend at the original Breckenridge Brewery, capped off my night with a classic cocktail at Modis, and rounded out my Rocky Mountain stay with a well-balanced breakfast at Park & Main.

Located in downtown Breckenridge, Park & Main practically shares outdoor seating space with Empire Burger. The two restaurants — along with Italian eatery Giampietro’s and Briar Rose Chophouse & Saloon — also share the same owners.

Perhaps that mutual ownership plays into the reason why I liked both restaurants — quality food in a cool setting.

Like Empire Burger, Park & Main’s view also looks out to the mountain and downtown, and the restaurant has both a colorful indoor dining room and outdoor space to soak in Colorado’s 300 days of sunshine.

Open for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. daily, Park & Main’s breakfast menu offers wiggle room for dietary concerns and personal preference with build-your-own breakfast sandwiches, a breakfast burrito to which you can add toppings like veggie sausage or kale, and availability to substitute many of the grains for gluten-free options.

I chose to build my own breakfast sandwich, selecting scrambled egg, Fontina cheese and a tomato slice on a Wolferman’s English Muffin. There were about half a dozen cheeses and more than a dozen other toppings including chorizo, kale, green chilis and pulled pork from which I could have built my sandwich.

With options like a fruit plate or cup, house-made granola and the Greek yogurt parfait, it’s easy to make breakfast at Park & Main a balanced and healthy meal. If I were visiting Breck to hike, ski or partake in other outdoor activities, I’d want to begin my day here.

Although I didn’t get to partake in the boozy brunch beverages available all day long at Park & Main, I could see myself hanging on the patio with a couple mimosas before a more relaxing day in the mountains to shop downtown or unwind at one of the many spas.

I dined at Park & Main as a guest of GoBreck the Official Breckenridge Resort Chamber. As always, all opinions are my own.

  1. What an interesting breakfast/brunch place. Love that you can build your own breakfast sandwich. Wish we had more creative places like that in the Midwest instead of the standard menu of eggs with bacon or sausage, pancakes/waffles and the occasional oatmeal or worse yet fast food establishments.
