Photo Friday: Old Post Office Pavilion

One of my favorite buildings in Washington, D.C., is the Old Post Office Pavilion.

Built in 1899, the Old Post Office features a beautiful clock tower that has fantastic views of the District’s sights, including the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol. Visitors can tour the grand building and go up into the clock tower for free.

Donald Trump plans to open a luxury hotel in the historic Pennsylvania Avenue attraction, but news reports indicate that visitors will still be able to access the clock tower and the ground level. One change the Trumps have proposed is adding the hotel’s name horizontally across the building’s entrance arch pictured below. Enjoy this view while you can!
